Let me tell you about Maggie. Maggie has one of those planner type personalities. The type of bride who books her photographer a year and a half in advance and has also thought of every gorgeous detail under the sun for her wedding day. Now let me tell you why I love Maggie. When she reached out to me over a year ago to capture her wedding, we hit it of immediately. The year and a half of planning has given me time to know her and Jon as a couple, as well as her entire family. Check out their engagement session here! When I arrived at the church on their wedding day, it was hugs and smiles all around. Days like these make me feel as though I am photographing not only a couple on their wedding day, but also sharing in a wedding celebration as a dear friend of the family. Throughout this planning process we also found out that our mothers went to the same Catholic grade school in Dubuque, Iowa only a couple of years apart. Such a crazy coincidence, since now neither of us reside in Dubuque.
Maggie and Jon’s wedding day was absolutely gorgeous, and although rain poured during the ceremony, it was nothing but beautiful blue skies and sunshine after that. I truly loved her choice of purple for the bridesmaids. (My own wedding color was also purple) 🙂 On her bouquet Maggie carried a pearl from her mom as her “something blue”, a garnet pin passed down from her grandmother as her “something borrowed”, a diamond necklace from Jon’s grandma, and a piece of lace from her mom’s wedding dress. Just her listening to her tell me about it made my heart smile.
Of course nothing in this world makes Maggie light up more than Jon. The amount of smiles and looks they shared between each other all day just makes you know these two found a perfect match in each other. Congratulations Friends!
Customized tie pins for the guys!
The florals were absolutely gorgeous.
This handsome little guy walking down the aisle just made me smile.

Being a flower girl is hard work!
Maggie’s special bouquet decorations.
When Maggie told me a friend of the family was going to drive them in a 1950’s Bentley! Oh LOVED getting theses shots.
Absolutely stunning Maggie!
Aww love these!
Whatever Maggie was whispering in Jon’s ear, worked.
Maggie surprised Jon with a Marine’s Groom Cake. As per tradition, the oldest Marine cuts the first piece, Jon’s dad, followed but the youngest Marine, Jon.
Maggie’s dad had everyone laughing!
Fantastic job by Cheshire Moon Films on the same day video, they loved it!
