When Marc and I first met Jeanett & Sal it was in 2018 at a wedding we were shooting, Joslyn’s and Zach’s. Both Jeanett & Sal were part of the bridal party that day which is how had the pleasure of getting to know them. It was later in the evening, once the dancing had begun, that Jeanett pulled me aside and whispered in my ear – “Sal and I are going to hire you and Marc to shoot our wedding”. I told her how amazing that would be – sure enough, a year later an email pops into my inbox from Jeanett! She and Sal had just set the date for their wedding – and as promised, wanted us to shoot the big day. Of course whenever we are hired by a member of another couples’ bridal party we are especially honored to have been chosen.
In speaking with Jeanett and Sal, one of the things they were most excited about was their venue. Maxwell Mansion is one of the most beautiful and historic homes in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Built in 1856 by a prominent Chicago Surgeon as a grand lakefront summer home. The home and grounds did not disappoint when we arrived a few weeks ago. Jeanett was right, every place you looked was beautiful and unique – a perfect spot for their wedding day.
After getting to know these two and their love for animals, a venue which allowed them to bring their dogs was an absolute must. Their pups helped celebrate their wedding by being part of the first look, walking down the aisle, as well as getting lots of kisses and belly rubs from attending guests.
The day started out with a little drizzle, requiring the ceremony to be moved inside. We were happy the rain stopped which allowed us to capture some fun sparkler and cigar shots at the end of the evening.
Congratulations to Jeanett & Sal – We wish you many years of happiness and a home big enough to house all those amazing pets you continue to collect!
A special thanks to all the vendors who made Jeanett & Sal’s day beautiful.
