Mother Nature couldn’t make up her mind when it came to Stephanie and Bristol’s wedding day. The day started off with the threat of rain when we first arrived at the beautiful Ashley Farms. I walked into the bridal sweet and there was a buzz of excitement in the air. Stephanie was surrounded by her family. This included her sister, mother, and her very sweet grandmother. As I bounced around capturing the ladies and all of Stephanie’s beautiful wedding details Stephanie’s grandmother leaned towards me grinned a delightful smile as she whispered that she had been praying for the rain to hold off this special day. On the other side of the farm, the gentlemen were hanging out in the guy’s barn. Ashley Farm has done a thoughtful job of creating perfect spaces for their brides and grooms to get ready. Bristol, much like Stephanie, was surrounded by family the morning of the wedding. Bristol’s brothers, father, and grandfather Poppie enjoyed sharing in laughs and conversation as they prepared for the celebration.
All of Stephanie’s grandmother’s prayers must have worked because as soon as we headed outside to start taking portraits, the clouds parted as the warm sunshine began to spill over the farm. Slightly humid and sunny weather surrounded our portrait sessions perfectly. Stephanie and Bristol chose to wait until they walked down the aisle to see each other for the first time that day. This allowed us to capture some beautiful images of each of their families before the ceremony began.
As the clock ticked closer to the ceremony start time, the wind started becoming brisk – picking up in intensity as the guests began filing into the old barn to witness the marriage of Bristol and Stephanie. Bristol had the biggest smile on his face when he saw this bride for the first time that day as she walked down the aisle towards him. Vows and rings were exchanged then Stephanie and Bristol celebrated with a kiss and the ringing of the barn bells!
One of the many things I loved about Ashley Farm is the beautiful grounds to take portraits. As we walked from the old willow tree to the field of lavender flowers, Bristol and Stephanie couldn’t help but continue to smile and laugh with each other. Such joy between them has led to capturing some of my favorite bride and groom portraits of the year!
Our beautiful weather didn’t last long after the ceremony as the wind picked up and the temperatures dropped quickly. This began sending the cocktail hour guests inside the beautifully decorated two-story barn to enjoy the rest of the evening. The barn heated up quickly as the dance floor flooded with guests ready to have a fun evening.
We were excited to be able to capture the love of two caring and beautiful people! I know many years of laughter and happiness are in store for Bristol and Stephanie. Here are our favorite moments from their wedding day!
