Gallegos Family

Kristen emailed me last month as part of her search for a photographer to capture her family, husband Luke and son Matthew, in scenic Chicago. This session also was to include one year old Matthew’s cake smash. This beautiful, charming family resides in Texas and traveled all the way to Chicago to support Kristen as she was running in the Chicago marathon. Kristen successfully completed the marathon, a sizeable accomplishment, with the support of her family cheering her along.

The morning following the marathon, the mid-September sky was bright blue and the weather was absolutely beautiful along the lakefront. Kristen suggested that since they were visiting Chicago, she definitely wanted the iconic Chicago skyline as a backdrop. There are a couple of places with a top notch view of this city, and one of my favorites is Olive Park which sits just north of Navy Pier. The city skyline never disappoints and looked absolutely incredible against the crystal clear September sky.

We finished our session off with a little bit of a cake smash for the birthday boy, Matthew. He enjoyed sticking his fingers in the blue frosting of the Mickey Mouse cake and sharing with mom and dad. The time I spent with this family was wonderful, and I hope they have the chance to
