A Note to the Grooms From Marc
For the Groom
Although you may not have spent as much time thumbing through bridal magazines, Pinterest boards, or a dozen Instagram feed and/or publications that cater to engaged or soon-to-be couples, chances are your future spouse has done just that and is already forming a vision for your perfect wedding.
I was in that same situation just a few years ago! Although I had already been shooting weddings for a while, I hadn’t given much thought to what I wanted in a photographer.
Mindy would show me some samples from various photographers and I would give a thumbs up or thumbs down, all based on just the pictures and prices. It didn’t really occur to me how much more we do than just take photos.
Later on I realized that many of the grooms that I meet find themselves pretty much in the same boat: it’s not until the actual day of the wedding that many of our concerns begin to form.

Getting Your Photo Taken
Worry #1
Unless you’re a professional model or celebrity, chances are you’re not completely comfortable having your picture taken by a photographer. This is one of the reasons why we include the engagement session, which is basically a dressed-up date night where you get your picture taken and have a nice dinner afterward. Don’t worry about the posing. This is a very casual affair that is filled with some great laughs. When your wedding day does roll around, your photography experience will be a piece of cake for you.

Not Being Able to Have Fun With the Guys
Worry #2
Having me in the background might seem awkward at first, but when I arrive in the morning I’ll say hi to you and your friends and get to work. I enjoy listening to the banter and will occasionally join in, but mostly I’ll blend into the background and capture you guys enjoying the day and having some fun. From figuring out how to tie a bow to folding pocket squares, I’m there to capture all of the antics, jokes, and laughs that happen.

Mindy and Marc were phenomenal photographers! Mindy made us feel so comfortable during our engagement photos which helped us on our wedding day. On our big day, Mindy helped coordinate with our vendors to ensure that we had all of the pictures we wanted. She convinced us to do a first look and I could not have been happier with the results! We had a November wedding in the evening and were afraid that we would run out of light after the ceremony. We ended up doing the first look and were able to have a quite, intimate moment and were able to get all of the beautiful pictures we wanted.
