I first met Jodi when she was a bridesmaid in her close friend, Megan’s, wedding in 2017. In a few of our early correspondence she had mentioned we had taken some pretty epic dance off pictures of her and her then boyfriend and her at her friend’s wedding. Of course we had to jog our memory and pulled up the old album to see Peter having a great time busting moves on the dance floor.
It was a couple of years after the dance floor fun that Peter asked Jodi to marry him. We think it is so sweet when couples remember us from weddings we have previously photographed and reach out to us years later to document their own wedding day.
Peter and Jodi first met through mutual friends in 2007 in their hometown of Dubuque, Iowa. It wasn’t until 2016 that they reconnected. Meeting up for lunch, Peter was so nervous he ordered the wrong sandwich. But his great sense of humor is what Jodi remembers most. A simple lunch first date turned into a 3 hour laugh fest for Jodi – she left their first date with her cheeks hurting from laughing so hard.
These two really do bring out the best in each other. Peter loves to joke around, Jodi loves laughing at Peter’s antics. We really had a great time at their engagement session a few weeks ago. They even brought along their 10-year-old Shorkie, Simon, to debut in a few shots.
This is a wedding we are looking forward to celebrating next year – we know the dance floor will definitely be lively with these two
