That evening, they showcased their shared sense of adventure by splitting their dinners, savoring every bite of the menu together—a charming detail that reflected their teamwork from the very start. The date was a success, and it wasn’t long before Alex decided to make their love story official. After watching Wicked, a musical about love, defying odds, and staying true to oneself, Alex proposed—a perfect reflection of their relationship.

Both Amy and Alex work as paraprofessionals in Downers Grove’s special needs education program, dedicating their days to supporting and caring for others. Their deep compassion and kindness shine in every interaction, making it clear why they’re such a beloved couple in their community and among friends and family.

Their wedding was a beautiful, intimate celebration held at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Downers Grove. Surrounded by loved ones, they exchanged vows in a ceremony filled with joy and heartfelt moments. Following the ceremony, the celebration moved to the Westin in Lombard, where the couple hosted a warm and welcoming DIY reception.
