Okay friends, I am warning you that today’s blog post is going to be extremely photo heavy. I just couldn’t help but include all of the beautiful locations and moments that made up Lindsay and Matt’s wedding day.
It wasn’t long ago we met online with the couple to chat about their wedding day vision. Let me say, they had both of us at ‘Chicago architecture tour-boat wedding’. Having shot weddings in the Chicago area for over 8 years, I began to wonder how had I not known this was a venue option? Lindsay and Matt had planned a wedding to show off the beautiful city of Chicago.
The day was warm and the conditions couldn’t have been any better for an outdoor summer wedding in the second city. Our day began with a first look at the top of the luxurious Lincoln Hotel under the cupula. From there we traveled along iconic Michigan Avenue for portraits. Next we had the pleasure of boarding the First Lady boat for the ceremony and reception. It hits a little different traveling down the Chicago River seeing Lindsay and Matt hold hands while saying their vows. It seemed as though the entire city was behind their love as we traveled under bridges and past boats while complete strangers cheered and shouted congratulations.
As the sunset and the city lights flooded the dance floor, the captain navigated the boat out into Lake Michigan in order to view the Navy Pier firework show. Congratulations on your marriage Lindsay and Matt – you two were made for each other and thank you for allowing us to experience one of most wonderfully unique weddings of our careers.
A special thanks to all the vendors who made Lindsay & Matt’s day beautiful.
