From the first moment we met Kristi and Ron, we knew their wedding day was going to be special. It wasn’t going to be the typical church ceremony – show up at the reception to have some fancy meal in a stuffy suit. If you know Kristi and Ron, they are the most genuine, down-to-earth people – they are also farmers who love their friends, families, and community. When we first spoke at their consultation last fall, these two didn’t talk about what THEY wanted, they expressed to us the importance of the people attending their wedding having a good time and enjoying the day. To create an event that was a great experience for every guest in attendance. Kristi and Ron chose to host their wedding at the Ogle County Fair Grounds. The fairgrounds have been an important part of Ron’s family for the past few generations. Creating a fun, relaxed, laid-back wedding that included great food, soft service ice cream, games, and bouncy houses for all the kids would make for the perfect day to share with their friends and family.
The wedding day was a sunny, warm, and beautiful day in September. As Kristi’s mom walked her down the aisle, it was hard for Ron not to tear up when he saw his wife walking towards him. The day had come together just as they had planned. The entire day was a success as the kids enjoyed the games, and the parents couldn’t stop talking about how delicious the food was (and yes – the best pork chops I think Marc and I have ever had). Some of the best things in life are worth waiting for and that is true when it came to Kristi & Ron’s love story. Congratulations Kristi and Ron, we have enjoyed getting to know you and we were so happy to join you on your very special day.
A special thanks to all the vendors who made Kristi & Ron’s day beautiful.
