Stephanie and Joseph first met in 2018 through a mutual friend. Their first date was to grab some Mexican food at De Pasada – a little joint near their alma mater, the University of Chicago. After that first date, it didn’t take long for these two to realize how perfectly they complemented one another. Between Joseph’s playful nature and Stephanie’s consistent smile and laugh – these two quickly realized they were the perfect match.
When you know it’s your person, you don’t waste any time, Stephanie decided she was going to be the one to ask Joseph to marry her! In the Spring of 2021, Stephanie made plans to have lunch at the same place they shared their first date and then presented Joseph with a book of 10 reasons why she loved him. On the final page, she asked him to marry her. Joseph returned the proposal five months later with a beautiful engagement ring.
We were lucky enough to plan their engagement session as the cherry trees were in full bloom on the campus near the Field Museum. Even with the skies drizzling the majority of the time, it was absolutely beautiful to see these two souls interact. Here are a few favorites from the session and we can’t wait to capture your Summer wedding!
