This Spring weather this year has been fickle to say the least, but Lauren and Nick had a beautiful warm sunny evening for their engagement session last week. They love spending time outdoors and hiking so choosing a beautiful scenic nature setting for these two was a must. We chose to meet at LeRoy Oakes Forrest Preserve. The location lends itself to many different varieties of photos – the fields, white fences, red barns, and a lovely stream offer the perfect backdrops.
Lauren and Nick first met while Lauren was working at a small bar in Elburn named Schmidt’s. Marc and I are very familiar with this place and we love to stop for one of their specialty cocktails at their outdoor patio on warm summer days and even sing on an occasional karaoke night. This is a love story that Marc and I really enjoyed.
Nick had a nearby job interview and decided to stop by Schmidt’s afterwards for a drink. While he was there, he got a phone call – Nick had been offered the job. Nick asked Lauren if he could buy her a shot. Lauren felt flattered by his offer and suggested they go out for a drink once she got off work. Now that is what I call a story of fate – and as they say, the rest is history.
Lauren and Nick had dated for 4 years before deciding to go to the courthouse to get married on their exact anniversary date this past fall. Lauren and Nick also decided to plan a larger more formal wedding this year to celebrate with their friends and extended families. We are looking forward to their celebration next month and can’t wait to share in the excitement with this super sweet couple.
Here are a few of our favorite shots from their engagement session.
