Edgewood Valley Country Club Wedding | LaGrange, IL

It was unseasonably warm for early June when we arrived for Melissa & Troy’s wedding day. With forecasted temps in the high 90’s, we knew we were in for a challenging day considering the outdoor ceremony and reception. Melissa and Troy only booked our services a few short months ago, but during that short timeframe we had the pleasure of getting to know them quickly. We could tell that they are so kind-hearted that no matter what the day threw their way, they were just excited to finally become husband and wife.

The day was perfectly planned – a country club wedding at the scenic Edgewood Valley Country Club. Four generations of Carlson’s have been members of the club and it was with great pride that the wedding was planned on the beautiful grounds.

As I arrived to the bridal suite – Melissa told me her favorite part of her dress were the pockets, but her favorite part of the day was to become Mrs. Carlson. Before the ceremony was to begin, Melissa’s dad came up to the bridal suite to see his daughter for the first time as a bride. The moment was truly genuine and touching as tears filled his eyes and he embraced his daughter in a big “dad” hug.

Although the temps were warm – it didn’t keep the guests from cooling down by sipping cocktails beneath the large white reception tent. One of the wedding event’s Melissa and Troy had mentioned in their consultation was their excitement for hiring the “Howl at the Moon” dueling pianos for the evening’s entertainment. Howl at the Moon is one of our favorite entertainment spots to hit when we are in the city. The evening’s entertainment did not disappoint as the trio kept the dancefloor jumping with requests and excitement.
