Our paths first crossed with Rianne & Sam about a year and a half ago when Marc and I photographed Conner & Megan’s wedding. Conner and Megan had a great bridal party, complete with an adorable Husky Pomeranian mix named Mozzy. This adorable pup belonged to Rianne, Conner’s sister and her then boyfriend Sam. Both Rianne and Sam were in the wedding party and we had the pleasure of getting to know them throughout the day. It was about a year after her brother’s wedding that Rianne sent me an email sharing the exciting news – she and Sam were engaged! We absolutely adore when family members from past weddings think of us when they become engaged. It is such an honor to have the opportunity to catch up with the family and shoot another of their weddings.

Rianne & Sam first met while attending University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. Currently residing in Madison, they requested for an engagement session in their hometown. Marc and I were happy to oblige, as out-of-town sessions often provide a perfect opportunity to not only explore a new city, but to schedule a fun night out.

I knew that the state capitol was one place I wanted to photograph this awesome couple! It is historic, elegant, and beautiful – the perfect backdrop for an equally amazing couple. Of course – sweet little Mozzy had to come with too! He is easily one of the sweetest best-behaved pups I have ever known.

Rianne suggested we finish the engagement session at Memorial Union Terrace. It was the perfect suggestion as we were able to capture some of the beautiful sunset glow along the docks of Lake Mendota.

I had a hard time narrowing down which engagement photos to share. Here are some favorites. We are so excited to capture another wedding for the Lund family and we can’t wait to celebrate with you in 2020.
