Alyssa & Michael

I love when couples tell me they were high school sweethearts.   Stories like these remind me so much of my own parents who started dating in high school and have just celebrated 46 years of marriage!   Alyssa and Michael have such a sweet young love. I truly enjoyed meeting up with them recently for their engagement session.  These two first met in middle school while both participated in the musical Hairspray.  They immediately clicked as friends as they spent time together on the set.  By the time 8th grade rolled around they realized they actually liked each other a little more than that. Officially, they started dating while working together on their 2nd musical, Annie Jr.  Their young romance was put on hold early on in high school but their heart strings pulled them back together during their junior year and they have been inseparable ever since.

Alyssa suggested we meet up at the beautiful and historic Ellwood house in DeKalb for their photo session.  This charming 1879 home was the perfect location to capture Alyssa & Michael and their timeless love.   The location, light, and love these two have for each other perfectly came together; making for a memorable engagement session.  I even had the pleasure of meeting Rosalie, Alyssa & Michael’s beautiful 2 1/2 year old daughter.  It’s plain to see how much joy she brings into their lives.  This little bundle of sunshine joined us for a few pictures and of course she captured my heart as well.  We are so excited to share along in the next phase of this family’s journey and be a part of their upcoming June wedding.
