I loved Caitlin and her personality from the first moment we met to chat about her wedding day. We got together with her mom a few months back over a glass of wine – we chatted as though I had been a friend of the family for years. Caitlin couldn’t stop gushing over her fiancé, Alex, who currently lives in Indiana.

She began telling me how they first met during their freshman year at Iowa State University while on a study abroad trip to the Bahamas. Talk about meeting the love of your life on a tropical island… Swoon. They didn’t officially start dating until they returned to school in Iowa, and soon they were inseparable best friends.

Since I had also attended Iowa State, the conversation just flowed naturally when we met up for their engagement session. We were talking about all our favorite places around campus. “Does Cy’s Roost still exist?” “What about that gyro guy with his late-night food cart on Welch Ave?” We had fun laughing at chatting throughout the session.

Crystal Lake main beach was one of the locations Caitlin wanted to be sure to hit for their session. I am so glad we did as it was so beautiful and romantic on the docks right around sunset. It was an enjoyable evening getting to know Caitlin & Alex and we are looking forward to their April wedding.
