As a child growing up in Iowa, there was always the lure of the big city as if it was something so magical. I fondly remember taking a few trips into Chicago with my parents and sisters to visit our Aunt and Uncle. Our trips included visiting Lincoln Park Zoo, walking around Navy Pier, and of course shopping on the Magnificent Mile. Also, on occasion being able to visit the Windy City with my dad to cheer on the Bears at Soldier Field. I remember how cool it always felt to be in the city, like I was a part of something so much bigger than me. It was always an adventure, soaking in all of the culture and diversity Chicago offer; looking up at such large buildings and just being a part of it all was thrilling. City people, of course, love the city. Kathleen and Anthony’s vision for their engagement session was to be right in the heart of the city at rush hour. Being there to catch the hustle and bustle of the traffic, the people, and the city they love and call home.
Kathleen and Anthony started dating in 2013. Their first date was at the restaurant, Quartino. In Kathleen’s words, “He fell into my life seamlessly.” It’s easy to see how busy their lives are between a 7 month old French bull dog puppy named Larry, wedding planning, and running their own business. These two help support and encourage each other in every aspect of their lives. They love exploring the city, enjoying the many different restaurants and events that Chicago has to offer. I am so happy to have had the opportunity to follow these two around downtown for their engagement session, even visiting their very first date spot. Enjoy!
