I had the pleasure of meeting up with Janine and Will for their engagement session a couple of weeks ago. They became engaged last October and are in the midst of planning their 2022 wedding. If you are ready to burn the fall candles and sip on a pumpkin latte you’ll love this couple’s engagement story.

One of Will and Janine’s favorite places to visit in the fall is an apple orchard near Will’s alma mater, Northern Illinois University. Every fall they would visit as the temperatures turned cooler – the place holds many memories for this couple. Will knew it would be the perfect location to ask Janine to be his wife – he had the day planned perfectly. While walking through the orchard with hot chocolate, Will got down on his knee to propose. Janine immediately agreed and was ecstatic to tell their families the good news.

Janine and Will both met their freshman year attending Willlowbrook High School. In typical high school fashion for a first date, they drove around in Will’s car and then watched a movie. When prom rolled around during senior year, their parents like so many others, shuffled them to Lilacia Park for a few photos.

For their engagement session, it only made sense for us to visit the places that mean so much to them. It was a beautiful location and we even had the opportunity to recreate a few “prom poses”. I am sure this time around it was a little more fun by popping some champagne.
