Okay – let me say I miss Starbucks.  As we all practice our social distancing these days – I haven’t set up my mobile office at Starbucks this past week.    Why am I thinking about sipping on tea or a nice pink drink, it’s because today’s blog features Maddie & Julius.   

Maddie & Julius first met at Illinois Wesleyan University. Although they met their freshman year, it wasn’t until after graduation that they started dating.  Their first date was, as you may have guessed by now, Starbucks.  Maddie even remembered their first order – Passion Iced Teas – Yum!  Since they had known each other for a while as friends, both were admittedly a little nervous about making that move from friends to maybe more. Let me say it went pretty well because 6 years later these two are finalizing the plans for their 2020 wedding. 

Since these two truly enjoy living in Chicago, they definitely wanted to capture some of the beautiful and iconic Chicago skyline in their engagement photos.   I am so glad the weather was warm enough in September to capture a fun-filled session.  

If you ask Julius what he loves most about his bride-to-be, he’ll say, “She has the best heart and truly wants the best not only for him but for everyone in her life circle.”  I couldn’t agree more, Maddie has a heart of gold and she truly cares deeply for all of the people in her life. 

Now if you ask Maddie what she loves most about Julius, “It is his ability to put others before himself.  He is always willing to go the extra mile to do something for me if I need it, and I know I can always count on him.”

That, my friends, is a perfect match. I had a great evening capturing Maddie & Julius’ engagement in Chicago on that warm September evening.  I hope you enjoy seeing their love and joy for each other in some of my favorite photos from their session.
