Hello friends and family -You may have noticed that we have been hyping a very BIG announcement for Mindy Leigh Photography.    We have been keeping all our hard work and planning on this big project under wraps for months. We so are excited that the BIG DAY is here and we’re ready to share our news with you!  

I always loved photography, when I started the business in 2014, I had no idea where this journey would take me.  Marc and I were friends (and co-workers) just beginning to date.   I remember coming into work and telling him all about the first ever wedding I photographed.   I also remember telling him how nervous I was and how I loved absolutely every minute of it.   It was Marc’s keen observation over the following year that led him to know that corporate life was not for me – he knew my heart and passion belonged to helping couples celebrate the most important and exciting day of their lives.   

We were newly dating and wanted to spend every possible minute that we could together.   Photographing weddings occupied many of my weekends so I eventually convinced Marc to come along and shoot with me.  I was fortunate that he was a natural talent.   The first wedding we ever shot together was in 2015.  Friends of ours were having a destination wedding in Florida, so we were grateful when they hired us to come along and document their wedding day.   It was the first time we ever were able to share in the love and excitement of another couple as a couple ourselves.     

As 2015 came to an end, Marc and I became engaged ourselves and started more closely focusing on the future of the business.   Marc, knowing this passion is where my heart was pulling me, provided unconditional love and support for me leaving my corporate job and pursuing photography as a full time career.    I couldn’t have done it alone, not only is he my business partner, but my partner in life, my teammate and my best friend.   

Over the next three wedding seasons, we grew our wedding business.   It was a cold night in February when we began discussing the possibility of a re-brand.   How do we make our website and branding be consistent visually, and in a storytelling style, of how we feel about the experience we provide to our couples?  And so… the exciting journey began – over the past 5 months we have been refining our WHY, curating our portfolio, making website copy revisions, and sharing our vision with our designer. 

To us it has never been just about the pictures, to Marc and me, it has always been just as much about the experience of getting to know every one of our couples. This is actually the most joyful and rewarding part of our job.   So many of our couples over the last 5 years told have us that one of the reasons they chose Mindy Leigh Photography is because we are a husband and wife team.  That means the world to us – and what better way to share more of who we are as a couple than to showcase that fact in our business name. 

Mindy Leigh Photography is now becoming Marc & Mindy !!!!

Yup that’s right!  We are changing our name. 

Don’t worry, we are the same Marc and Mindy we’ve always been, we are just revamping the look and feel of our business.  Plus, I suppose it’s about time I gave that hard-working husband of mine a little credit! 😉 

Connecting with couples throughout the wedding planning process as a married couple ourselves, has been such an invaluable asset to the experience we provide.  We recently added up all the weddings we have photographed – as of this month we have celebrated over 100 couples and joyous wedding days that we have had the honor of experiencing.  This week provides us with a fantastic reason to celebrate such a milestone.   We want to take a moment to thank each one of our past couples.  Your kind words and praises have touched us deeply and pushed us forward. We couldn’t be more proud to call you not just our clients, but also our friends through this journey!  We love you all!

Over the next week you will begin to see some changes being made throughout our social media channels – culminating a week from today with the sharing of our brand-new website!  We have been looking forward to sharing more and more about our new brand, our new website, and our WHY in the upcoming weeks.   We also have a pretty amazing give away planned so you will want to be sure not to miss that!
