As many vendors in the wedding industry know, the holiday season brings forth many new marriage proposals. Perhaps it’s the joy and coziness of the holiday season, is there is a little special magic in the air on days like these, or maybe it’s this time of year when we really reflect on the people that mean the  most to us.  

With that thought in mind, it was no surprise when Matt contacted me and asked me to help him plan a very special day for his girlfriend Emilia. When we chatted on the phone, Matt was talking about how he and Emilia had just moved in together in Chicago’s gold coast neighborhood.  They wanted to pick out a Christmas tree together to celebrate their first holiday in their new home.  Matt suggested heading to Richardson’s Tree Farm, located in Spring Grove – this place has a very special meaning to Matt. This is the tree farm he had grown up visiting every year with his parents.  With promises of a tractor ride, hot apple cider, and a fun adventure, Emilia was on board for this wintery date.  

Unbeknownst to Emilia, as the two of them were heading to the farm, Matt’s and Emilia’s families had met me ahead of time to pick out just the right location for Matt’s marriage proposal.  There were twinkle lights adorning the tree and champagne on ice when Emilia arrived. She was sweetly surprised and gave Matt a big enthusiastic YES!  The family rushed out from their hiding spots to congratulate the happy couple.

Congratulations Emilia and Matt on your engagement – we cannot wait to see what the future has in store for you both.
