Kaitlin and Brooke are adventurers. The kind of women who prefer hiking, boating, craft beer, their dog Willy, and life in the outdoors. It was no question when they decided to plan their Dubuque wedding, they wanted a venue that would match exactly who they are and the things they enjoy most as a couple. Stone Cliff Winery is not only a gorgeous venue nestled along the banks of the Mississippi River, but it has a unique and rich history as well. The building, now registered on the US National Register of Historic places, spent much of the late 1800 early 1900’s as a brewery producing Dubuque Star beer. Production was shut down in the 1920’s due to prohibition and once again resumed in 1933 when prohibition was repealed. After many years and changes of ownership, the building is now celebrated as one of the city’s prime wineries and outdoor wedding venues.
The weather could not have been any more perfect for an outdoor summer riverside wedding. The chosen color scheme playfully executed and present throughout the day; Kaitlin and her Tangerine Orange bride crew – Brooke and her Malibu Blue bride crew. These amazing bride crews were made up of siblings and long-time friends, all so happy and excited to share in the love of this day. From getting ready to tearing it up on the dance floor. With laughs and high-fives, the energy of this bunch was contagious.
The craft brew station was a huge success with guests as they were instructed to grab their drinks at the beginning of the ceremony. And in true Irish fashion a toast sealed the marriage as Kaitlin and Brooke’s celebration began with all their friends and family.
Although there were many memorable and special elements during the day, one of my favorite moments was Kaitlin’s first look with her dad. It was easy to see how proud and happy he was for his baby girl. With the love and support each of their family’s had shown during the special day, you know it was not just of marriage of two but a celebration of two families. Where friendship begins, many many years of happiness are on the way for these two beautiful women.
Enjoy your adventures!

Thank you to Marc for moving benches and holding up traffic so I could get this dress shot.
Sometimes when you have two brides… watch out, beading can get caught. These two laughed so hard about this.
