Spring Creek Reservoir Anniversary Session | Bloomingdale, IL

If these two look a little bit familiar to you, it’s because it was just over a year ago that we had the pleasure of photographing Gabriella & Lucas’s wedding day. When they contacted us about capturing some photos of their one-year anniversary, I was absolutely honored. I wanted to have the opportunity to catch up with them and find out how their first year of marriage has been.

I had never been to the Spring Creek Reservoir, so I was excited when Gabriella suggested something new and different for their anniversary session. The morning was beautiful – a welcome change to some of the rainy weekends we had been having recently.

While we were catching up on life since the wedding, Gabriella admitted that she almost missed the time she spent planning her wedding, which I think is something that is common for a lot of brides. So, she decided to pursue her master’s degree – what a wonderful way to consume time that had once been dedicated to wedding planning. Lucas has also since changed jobs and we had talked about pretty much everything else under the sun.

They even brought along their little pup, Gordon – who if you may remember, made appearances in both their engagement and wedding photos.

The conversation naturally moved to their families and how they had been – Lucas had just mentioned his younger sister, Grace, had just celebrated a birthday. As always it was such a fun time catching up with two beautiful people, and we are excited to share a few favorites from their anniversary session.
