Hi friends – Ok I’ll be honest. Between shooting a ton of fall weddings and engagements – plus launching our online photography education community, time has been in short supply as of late. I did want to get back to sharing some beautiful weddings and engagements from this past year and now finally I have a bit of a breather before the wedding season starts up again.
Let me take you back to Julie & Billy’s July wedding. I love the potential of summer weddings. It’s warm, it’s sunny, the sun stays out and provides a beautiful sunset. The morning of Julie and Billy’s wedding celebration was balmy. However, that warm summer morning also caused concern for a late afternoon thunderstorm predicted to begin right around the ceremony time.
Julie is one of the sweetest brides and had no problem asking us what we thought was best as far as keeping the ceremony outside or moving it indoors. Right before the first look, the winds began to pick up as the sky turned darker. After much thought and a little disappointment on Julie’s plans – everyone thought it best to move everything inside. I know she was a little bit bummed so I just reminded her that it didn’t matter WHERE the ceremony was, she and Billy were soon going to be married!
It definitely was the right call. Just as the ceremony started the skies opened up and the downpour began. The Glen Club is a beautiful and elegant venue and it wouldn’t have mattered where the ceremony was, it was sure to be gorgeous.
Halfway through cocktail hour – the sun peaks out once again as guests grabbed their drinks and appetizers and headed out to the warm and now slightly humid summer air. It couldn’t have been any more perfect to capture sunset pictures for the newlyweds.
Another elegantly beautiful wedding we were so honored to be a part of. Here are a few of our favorites from Julie and Billy’s special day.
A special thanks to all the vendors who made Julie & Bil’s day beautiful.
