Jill + Dave

The day was warm and sunny, you couldn’t have asked for better weather for a riverside wedding. I had the pleasure of getting to know Jill and Dave over the course of a few months as they planned their Dubuque wedding. When the wedding day rolled around it was easy to see that these two were just such sweet genuine people, who finally found a soulmate within each other.

Dave and Jill, with the help of the amazing talented event designer Wendy Hendrix, pulled together a gorgeous blue water themed wedding. The water has been a consistent theme for Dave and Jill. On their second date they spent the evening walking along the shores of Lake Michigan in Wisconsin, chatting and getting to know eachother. When Dave wanted to ask Jill to be his wife, he knew the shoreline was the best place to ask her to marry him. So they went back to the place of their second date and it was there that he got down on one knee. It only seemed fitting that they would exchange their vows near water. The gorgeous Grand Harbor Resort, nestled on the Mississippi River, provided a beautiful backdrop for their ceremony.
The gorgeous water theme carried through the reception with a beautifully decorated intimate event for Jill and Dave’s closest family and friends.
