When I first started my photography business in early 2012 I had no idea what I wanted to do with it. I knew I always had a passion for photography and a passion for learning. I would stay up late into the evening watching photography videos, and reading photography blogs. I wanted to learn all I could about how to make amazing images. This was great, it’s what I needed from moving from my early work (EEK!) to what I am continuing to learn now. I believe over the years I have started to hone my skill and find my photographic style. However as I looked at my business now in the beginning of 2015 I didn’t feel my brand represented exactly my style. I want my brand to speak how I approach my photography, from my relationships with my clients, to my editing style.
The amazing Jasmine Star preaches finding words to help define your brand. When clients look at my photography I want them to feel it is Genuine, Expressive, and Fresh. I needed to reflect that in my brand because that is not only who I am as a business but who I am as a person. The starting point of the rebranding was changing my business name from Photos by Mindy Leigh to Mindy Leigh Photography. Why? Because I don’t to just deliver photos. I want to deliver an experience to clients, and a collection of images that tell a story. To achieve my new look , I started with a simple branding board so I could start to pull together exactly what I wanted. The font is romantic, the color may look similar to an expensive little jewelry box, and the arrows just like cupid a hopeless romantic like myself adds a bit of fun. I am so lucky to have a talented designer as my sister, thanks to my big sister Tiffany for the logo design.
Thank you all for your support, my business continues to grow and I am genuinely grateful for all of you. 🙂
