It’s not easy to put yourself out into the world of online dating. What makes it even harder is doing so during the pandemic. 50 years from now, when someone asks the question, “how did Emily and Ian meet?” – at least they have a great story to share. While most first dates begin with dinner or drinks, unfortunately, the world was shut completely down in May of 2020. Not wanting to miss their chance at finding out if they connect, they decided to set up a virtual date. Via online video chat, Emily and Ian chatted and began to get to know each other over a glass of wine in their own living rooms. After a few virtual dates, it was in the cards for these two to set up an actual in-person date.
Being that everything was still closed from COVID-19, they took the opportunity to remain socially distant at their first in-person date. The pair ordered some to-go wine from a local restaurant and enjoyed it out of paper cups in Welles Park. This plan was perfect for Emily because she also had the opportunity to bring her Poodle, Beau, to see if he approved of the budding relationship. Fortunately for Ian, he passed the Beau test and it wasn’t long before these three were spending much more of their time together.
Two years have passed since those first few dates, and now Emily and Ian are planning their perfect winter wedding. If there is one thing we have learned since 2020 it’s that some things never stop and shut down – and love is one of those things Congratulations Emily and Ian, here are a few of our favorites from the session. We can’t wait to celebrate with you in January!
