Let me start by saying I love any story that starts with love for a grandma and especially one that bakes. This is exactly how Heather and Rob’s story begins. Heather’s grandmother’s lived next to Rob. When Heather would visit her grandmother, she noticed the boy next door and he caught her eye. Since he was a little bit older than she, it wasn’t until few years later when Rob worked with one of Heather’s friends they made the connection. After hearing how amazing of a person she was, Rob mustered up the courage to ask her out. Right away he knew that Heather was the one. This weekend we are celebrating their love and union the of their little family and including sweet daughter Logan. Marc and I are looking forward to capturing their special day in one of our favorite towns – Galena.
Since Heather’s and Rob’s story began at her grandmother’s home, it inspired me to share one of my favorite recipes from my own grandmother. I remember walking into my grandmother’s home and always enjoying the pleasant smell of whatever she was baking that day. Gingersnap cookies were one of my favorite treats and I, of course, was always more than happy to eat them. Today I am so excited to be sharing her recipe with you. This is the perfect Fall treat and we paired this treat perfectly with a Fall inspired cocktail – Honey Jack Apple Martini.
We are looking forward to seeing you and celebrating with your friends and family tomorrow!
