Brides often stress and worry about how perfect their wedding day will be. What will the weather be like? Will my makeup still look good into the evening? Will my bouquets come out as I envisioned? Being a bride myself not that long ago, I completely understand all the preparation, anticipation, and hope that goes into planning the perfect day. When I chat with brides as their wedding day approaches, I always reassure them no matter what, at the end of the day you and your fiancé will be married – THAT is what you will be most happy about.
May can be a fickle weather month. In May 3 years ago, When Marc and I were married, the weather leading up to our wedding day was beautiful. We planned an outdoor ceremony and everything that goes along with that. Unfortunately, as the day of our wedding drew near, the temperatures plummeted, the winds picked up, and precipitation lingered in the air – this was not something I had in my perfect wedding vision. Similarly, 3 years to practically the same day, Lanah and Justin were preparing for their wedding at the same venue where we were married – the beautiful Bull Valley Golf Club. Again, unfortunately, the weather was also not what Lanah was hoping as the rain fell on their wedding morning, forcing the planned outdoor ceremony indoors.
Lanah and Justin, being the easy-going, friendly-natured people, that they are, went with the flow. They put their trust in us to head outside for portraits with a few umbrellas in tow. I am so happy we were able to capture a few portraits before the ceremony began. We had just started their portrait session when Justin, who was adjusting his pants and shirt, announced his pants broke. What! Your pants broke? This was a wardrobe malfunction that could possibly impede the timeline and portraits for the day. Marc hurried up to the bridal suite to grab some safety pins as I used this time to photograph some bridal portraits of Lanah. Once Marc returned with the pins, we tried to fix Justin’s pants to no avail. We had to improvise and shift the timeline to get Justin fixed up for the rest of the day.
Luckily for Justin, some quick-thinking army vet groomsmen found some black athletic tape to help secure his pants for the rest of the day. Talk about a clever solution! It worked – the day was saved – Lanah and Justin will forever have a great story to share about their wedding. I small mishap like this couldn’t have happened to sweeter people. They were not only excited for their perfect day, but more excited for the lifetime of marriage to come. We had such a fun and memorable day with you and are so excited to share a few of our wedding day favorites.
A special thanks to all the vendors who made Lanah & Justin’s day beautiful!
