Francesca & Ryan

I have heard many wonderful stories from many couples about how they met and how they fell in love.   Francesca and Ryan’s story could be right out of a Hollywood; a perfect set up for romantic comedy.  Ryan’s mother is a hair dresser and for the past three years she had been doing Francesca’s mothers hair.  I can see the scene setting up now at the salon – roll tape…

Many women know that time spent at the salon is also a time to chit chat with your hair dresser about your life, your kids, your job etc… For Ryan’s mother, these appointment conversations steered to the fact that Ryan was moving back to the Chicago area. Logically, since both of their children were single adults, well maybe they should be setup.   Francesca and Ryan were hesitant to say the least.   Go on a date that their mother’s had set up?   But after months of much coaxing and persuading, Francesca and Ryan begrudgingly agreed on ONE date.  They both decided to keep the date simple – after all, they were just meeting up in order to appease their mothers.  So the pair decided on a coffee date.   The two met at the Arcedium Coffee House in St. Charles.   However much to Francesca and Ryan’s surprise that first date lasted over 3 hours!  That’s a lot of coffee and chatting.  Perhaps sometimes, mothers do know best.

For Francesca and Ryan’s engagement session, we found it fitting to begin where this whole story started, the coffee shop.  Arcredium was very accommodating by staying open late on a Sunday afternoon so that we could use their quaint establishment to start our photo shoot.  I had such a great time getting to know these two.   Francesca has an amazing smile and Ryan has the perfect manner with which to bring it out.   The light was gorgeous as we walked around historic downtown St. Charles and the scenic Fox River.
