I have driven by the quaint, little white chapel many times. Having lived in Yorkville for a while, I would pass this historical church either taking the kids to school or to soccer practice. This charming little white chapel had always intrigued me. What did it look like on the inside? When was it built? What was its role in this little town’s history? When Emily and I met and started discussing her wedding day, I was so thrilled to find out that the wedding was to take place at The Chapel on the Green. I was truly excited to photograph this wonderful couple at this beautiful little piece of history that I had been so curious about.
On a blustery November afternoon, friends and family filled every row including those in the balcony of the historic chapel. Dustin and Emily shared their vows with not only each other but with their young son Camden. This little guy stole my heart when we first met at the engagement session, if you haven’t seen it check it out here. The rustic wedding reception venue was perfectly accented with mason jars and cowboy boots at the beautifully decorated Kendall County fairgrounds. Emily and Dustin had decided on a doughnut “cake” which was smashing success. I mean seriously doughnuts!?! How original!
As Dustin took Emily into his arms for their first dance, it was so heartwarming to watch them look at each other with enormous smiles on their faces. Two people who were meant to be, and now get to share in the love of being husband and wife. We were so honored to be a part of their wedding day and wish them so many more happy and wonderful years.
